Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

HILLSDALE, Ind. (CNS) - Herman Harper, 79, of Hillsdale and Montezuma, died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday (March 15, 1969) in the Howard Nursing Home al Rockville. Born in Hillsdale, March 7, 1890, he was the son of Joshua and Sarah Miller Harper. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of the Hillsdale EUB Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lorene Duncan of Terre Haute, Mrs. Lovella Bonacorsi of Clinton Route 2, Mrs. Virginia Beauchamp of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Mary Blakesley of Homewood, Ill. and Mrs. Clarice Torasso of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Martin of Florence, Ky., and Maurice of Hillsdale Route 1; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, John and a sister, Mrs. Doll Turbeville, both of Newport. The body is at the Frist Funeral Home for services at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Wendell Adams officiating. Burial will be in Helt's Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today. - jlr
